
FULTON, Miss. – The Itawamba Community College men's soccer team sent its sophomores off on a good note with a 2-1 victory over East Central on Sophomore Day.
Luke Dearsley (Sydney, Australia) put the Indians on the board first by scoring on a free kick a few minutes into the contest. Will Barber (Kent, England) made it a 2-0 advantage on an assist by Elijah Belk (Oxford) with 32:39 left in the first half. The Warriors got a goal back with a few minutes remaining until halftime to make it 2-1.
Barber had a pair of shots on goal while Leander Breidenbruecker (Bizau, Austria), Dearsley, Alfredo Guerra (Capaccio, Italy), Quint Hofstee (Eindhoven, Netherlands) and Frank Rodriguez (Fulton) each had one.
William Blake (Fulton) had three saves at the net for the Indians.
Next up, ICC will be on the road for a 7 p.m. match against No. 16 Hinds on Friday, Oct. 25 in Raymond.
