STLCC Men’s Basketball Starts the Season 4-0 with Win Over Lincoln Land Community College
On November 13, 2024, the St. Louis Community College Men's Basketball team secured their fourth consecutive victory to open the season, defeating Lincoln Land Community College 60-42. The Archers showcased their dominance by outscoring Lincoln Land in both halves, maintaining their undefeated record.
Alijah Carter led STLCC with 10 points, while CJ Lang contributed a team-high 12 points. The Archers posted a solid shooting performance, hitting 40.0% from the field and 50.0% from the free-throw line.
Defensively, STLCC proved formidable, limiting Lincoln Land to just 26.1% shooting from the field and 24.0% from three-point range. Camden Nelson led Lincoln Land in scoring with 16 points, but his efforts were not enough to overcome STLCC's balanced attack.
Rebounding played a crucial role in the Archers' victory, as they outrebounded Lincoln Land 45-34. STLCC also displayed better ball control, committing only 10 turnovers compared to Lincoln Land's 16.
Head Coach Terry Collins praised the team's effort, stating, "Our focus on defense and controlling the boards made the difference tonight. Starting 4-0 is a testament to the hard work this group has put in."
