Red Ravens Crush Ellsworth 72-7, Pick Up Another Victory as Garden City Must Forfeit Earlier Raven Loss

Iowa Falls, IA - On their third trip to Iowa this season, The Coffeyville Community College Red Raven Football Team absolutely crushed the Panthers of Ellsworth 72-7.  Earlier before game time on Saturday, Coffeyville also learned that Garden City had to forfeit their overtime victory earlier in the season against Coffeyville due to the playing of an ineligible player for Garden City.  With the defeat of Ellsworth and the forfeit of Garden City, Coffeyville finds itself sitting on an overall 6-2 record including a 2-1 record in KJCCC conference games.

Coffeyville's scoring in the matchup with Ellsworth started early and often.  Red Raven red-shirt freshman quarterback Joseph Vick opened the game with two touchdown runs (29 yards & 13 yards) to give Coffeyville an early 14-0 lead roughly seven minutes into the game.  Next up was Coffeyville red-shirt freshman running back Ma'Kenttis Adams ripping off a 62-yard touchdown run to give Coffeyville a 21-0 lead with two minutes to go in the first quarter.

The second quarter opened up with Ellsworth scoring a short touchdown pass to pull within 21-7.  That would be the last we would here from Ellsworth's offense.

Red Raven freshman receiver Ty Durham hauled in a 37-yard touchdown pass from Vick to put the Ravens up 27-7.  Coffeyville red-shirt freshman DB Jarvis Murray got into the scoring action as he interested an Ellsworth pass and returned it 22 yards to extend the Raven lead out to 34-7.  The next four scores (two in the second quarter and two in the third quarter) were scored by Red Raven freshman running back Charles Morgan.  Morgan scored on touchdown runs of 66 yards, 16  yards, 3  yards, and 13 yards.  After those four touchdowns, Coffeyville had a lead of 62-7 with six minutes left in the third quarter.

Coffeyville tacked on a Hunter Martens 36-yard field goal while the Red Ravens' last score was scored as freshman tight end Hayden Lucas hauled in a 9-yard touchdown pass from Vick.  After the dust settled, Coffeyville had a 72-7 victory over Ellsworth.

Coffeyville's next game is a matchup against the Conquistadors of Dodge City on Saturday, November 2nd in Veterans Memorial Stadium.  Kick-off is scheduled for 1:00 p.m.
