Toms River, NJ - While OCC Softball has yet to land in the win column, the team continues to show strong signs of life. The Vikings turned in their strongest offensive performance to date in their 17-7 loss to Finger Lakes CC on Wednesday (3/19).
OCC freshman first baseman/pitcher Madison Bernardo blasted her first home run of the season, deep into the woods in left-centerfield, while sophomore centerfielder Averie Barneman doubled and drove in 3 runs in the loss. Sophomore catcher Nina DiGeronimo, who has answered the call behind the plate while starting backstop Raven Heckel deals with an injury, tripled and drove in a run today, and leads the team with 10 hits this season.
OCC Softball returns to action this Saturday, March 22, when they travel to Northampton CC for a 12 P.M. doubleheader.
