Beavers Pick Up First Conference Win Against Butler

Pratt, Kan. - The Pratt Community College baseball team picked up their first conference victory on Sunday, Mar. 16 against the Grizzlies of Butler Community College. The Beavers are 4-20 overall and 1-7 in conference play. Butler ended up winning the series 3-1 with wins in games one (5-1), two (11-10), and four (13-1) of the series. Pratt is currently sitting in eighth place in the KJCCC west standings.  

In game three, played in Pratt, Kan. saw the Beavers pick a 1-0 win over the Grizzlies. In a one hit, game for the Beavers freshman shortstop Colby Gomez got a hit in the bottom of the seventh inning bringing home pinch runner Jayden Parks for the winning run. Starting pitcher Sutter Balog through 5.2 innings with five hits and nine strikeouts. Freshman Thomas Harmsworth was awarded the win with 1.1 innings pitched with one hit and one strikeout.  

The Beavers will host Colby Community College on Thursday, March 20 starting at 1:00 p.m. and will travel to Colby, Kan. for games three and four on Saturday, March 22.
