Herkimer Women's Basketball Ends 2024 On 8-Game Win Streak

The Herkimer College women's basketball team dominated from start to finish in an 89-28 victory over SUNY Broome on Sunday. The Generals established control early, outscoring Broome 21-8 in the first quarter and maintained their intensity throughout the game.

Sophomore Sage Geisler (Queens, NY) led the charge with an outstanding 24-point performance, shooting 8-of-13 from the field, including four three-pointers. She also contributed 8 rebounds, 5 assists, and 6 steals in a complete all-around effort.

Freshman Kavashia Archie (Utica, NY) was a force inside, finishing with 13 points, 11 rebounds, and 4 steals for a double-double. Sophomore Anderson Eggleston (St. Johnsville, NY) added 15 points and 4 rebounds, making her presence felt on both ends of the floor.

Sophomore Charity Dygert (Herkimer, NY) contributed 11 points, eight rebounds and six assists while sophomore Imani McNeil (Colonie, NY) chipped in 13 points and 7 rebounds. The Generals' balanced scoring attack and unselfish play were key to their success, with multiple players making significant contributions.

Herkimer shot an impressive 44.7% from the field and 50% from beyond the arc, while holding Broome to just 28 points. Defensively, they were relentless, forcing 24 turnovers and tallying 8 blocks and 24 steals.

The Generals will earn a few weeks of rest with an 8-1 record before coming back to the gym in 2025!
