KCKCC Women’s Basketball Falls to No.14 Allen

The Kansas City Kansas Community College women's basketball fell to the Allen Community College Red Devils, 60-35 Jan.29 at Mid-America Nazarene University in Olathe, Kan. The Blue Devils are now 3-3 in conference play and are in fifth place behind Johnson County, Neosho, Allen and Highland.

Capri Garrett led the team with 12 points while bringing down four rebounds. Ja'Cole Johnson finished with seven points and two assists. Kylee West came off the bench and supported the team with a team-high seven rebounds while scoring six points of her own. Bennett Peck, Emma Berenguer Fernandez, Zoe Clark and Destiny Ochs were the other players who scored in the game, combining for 10 points and four steals. Allen is now 15-2 overall and are currently ranked No.14 in the latest NJCAA DII women's basketball poll.

For the game, the Lady Blue Devils shot 12-41 from the field (29.3%), 3-16 from three-point range (18.8%) and 8-17 the free-throw line (47.1%). The Red Devils shot 19-61 from the field (31.1%), 3-12 from three-point range (25%) and 19-29 from the free-throw line (65.5%).

The next game for the Lady Blue Devils is against the Neosho County Community College Panthers at 2 p.m. Feb. 1 at Neosho County Community College in Chanute, Kan.
