KCKCC Women’s Soccer Crowned Conference Champions

The Kansas City Kansas Community College women's soccer team took down the Garden City Community College Broncbusters, 2-0 Oct. 26 at the KCKCC soccer field. The last time women's soccer was regular season champions was the 2020 season when they finished with a conference record of 11-1-1.

It took just nine minutes for Trinity Wheeler to score the first goal for the Blue Devils. Kiara Carr took a corner kick, and the ball landed right in front of the Broncbuster goal. Waiting there was the sophomore forward from Lee's Summit, Mo., who put it in the back of the net to score her second goal as a Blue Devil. Sierra Montez scored a rocket right before halftime to double the lead with Cora Ellermann recording her 11th assist on the year. In the KJCCC, Ellermann is in fourth place for assists, and Montez is fourth place with 14 goals. Blue Devil goalkeeper Maria Heuman, saw four shots on goal from the Broncbusters, saving all four. Heuman currently leads the conference with seven clean sheets and three shared clean sheets.

The Blue Devils enter the Region VI Tournament as the No.1 seed and will take on No.8 seeded Garden City.
