LADY RAIDERS FALL IN REGIONALS TO CHATT STATE

The No. 2 seeded Roane State volleyball team faced off against No. 3 Chattanooga State in the second game of the TCCAA / NJCAA Region 7 Volleyball Tournament. The tournament was hosted by Roane State Nov 1-2 and featured an end of season awards presentation.

In the opening set, Roane State started off strong and took an early lead. Chattanooga responded with a decisive run, ultimately winning the first set 25-23. 

The Lady Raiders surged to an early advantage again in the second set with high energy but fell to Chattanooga 24-26. Aggressive serving and Haley Ledford running the offense efficiently was a vital to keeping the score close.

Although the Lady Raiders gave the Lady Tigers a fight in the third set, Chattanooga State managed to secure the match 25-19 and advanced to the next round.

Hannah Harnichar led the Lady Raiders with 10 kills. Solene Roussel added nine kills, while Haley Ledford had six. Frida Hoellger and Rayonna Greenlee together contributed eight kills. 

Jaylynn Bullock delivered a strong defense with 16 digs, followed by Haley Ledford with 12 and Solene Roussel with 11. Haley Ledford registered 29 total assists within those three sets.

The Lady Raiders ended their season Friday with a 16-8 overall and 6-2 region record.
