The Cape Fear Community College Sea Devils Men's Basketball team faced a challenging weekend at the Brunswick Classic, finishing 1-2 in a tough stretch of games against Chattanooga State, Bryant & Stratton, and Harcum College. Despite the mixed results, several standout performances highlighted the Sea Devils' determination and talent.

Friday: Sea Devils Fall Short Against Chattanooga State, 76-71

Cape Fear opened the tournament on Friday with a hard-fought battle against Chattanooga State but ultimately fell 76-71. Avion Pinner led the charge for the Sea Devils with an impressive double-double, finishing with 18 points, 13 rebounds, and 4 blocks. His dominant presence in the paint kept Cape Fear competitive throughout the contest, but the team was unable to secure the win in the closing minutes.

Saturday: Overtime Thriller Ends in Sea Devils Victory, 88-83

The Sea Devils rebounded on Saturday with a thrilling 88-83 overtime victory against Bryant & Stratton. Jessiah Pierre-Johnson was unstoppable, scoring a game-high 32 points, including four three-pointers. Pierre-Johnson also contributed 9 rebounds and 3 steals to round out his stellar performance.

JJ Moore also shined, pouring in 23 points and making a remarkable 13 of 16 free throws, providing crucial points in the overtime period. AuMauri Tillman was a force on the boards, grabbing 9 rebounds to help secure the victory. The win showcased Cape Fear's resilience and ability to perform under pressure.

Sunday: Sea Devils Struggle Against Harcum College, 98-63

Cape Fear wrapped up the tournament with a tough loss to a strong Harcum College team, falling 98-63. Despite the final score, AuMauri Tillman delivered an excellent performance, leading the Sea Devils with 26 points and 4 rebounds. Tillman's scoring effort was a bright spot in an otherwise challenging game for Cape Fear.
