March 8 – Metropolitan Community College at Sedalia
SEDALIA, Mo. – The State Fair Community College softball team split a Region 16 doubleheader against Metropolitan Community College on Saturday, dropping the first game 7-4 before bouncing back with a 9-4 win.
In game one, sophomore middle infielder and outfielder Emily Burke of Cole Camp had two hits, including a home run and two RBIs. Sophomore utility player Bailey Haselhorst of Kansas City also had two hits, drove in a run, scored once and stole a base. Freshman outfielder Carley Conrad of Edwardsville, Kansas, recorded two hits and a stolen base. Sophomore outfielder and middle infielder Jordan Crooks of Leeton had two hits, including a double, and scored a run. Sophomore third baseman Myla Inman of Washington added a triple.
SFCC tallied 11 hits as a team.
Freshman pitcher Zoe Donahue of Mountain Home, Arkansas, started in the circle, pitching six innings and allowing seven runs on 12 hits while striking out five and walking two. Freshman infielder and utility player Jenna Herald of Monett pitched one inning in relief, giving up one hit and striking out one.
In game two, Conrad led the offense with three hits, including a triple. Sophomore first baseman and second baseman Danika Sickle of Grain Valley hit a home run as part of a two-hit performance. Herald also homered and drove in two runs. Haselhorst hit a home run, drove in two and scored twice. Burke had two hits, including a double, and scored twice. Freshman pitcher and shortstop Valerie Meyer of Hughesville contributed two hits, including a double, with a run scored and an RBI. Freshman first baseman and pitcher Courtney Dehn of Dearborn added a double. Sophomore catcher and third baseman Lia Hill of Lee's Summit hit a double and drove in two runs. Crooks had two hits, including a double, and scored once.
Meyer pitched six innings, allowing two runs on five hits while striking out three and walking seven.

Lady Roadrunners Drop Two Against Hawkeye
March 9 – Hawkeye Community College at Sedalia
SEDALIA, Mo. – SFCC (3-7, 1-1 Region 16) dropped both games of a Sunday doubleheader against Hawkeye Community College, losing 7-2 in the opener and 6-5 in game two.
In game one, the SFCC offense managed just five hits. Crooks and Burke each had a hit and a run scored. Inman contributed a triple and two RBIs. Meyer and freshman catcher and utility player Natalie Crumpler of Exeter also recorded a hit.
Dehn started in the circle, pitching six innings and allowing seven runs, five earned, on nine hits with two strikeouts and one walk. Donahue pitched one inning in relief, allowing one hit and striking out one.
In game two, Conrad led the offense with three hits and two runs scored while stealing two bases. Dehn added two hits. Sophomore utility player Bella Ochoa of Carrollton had two hits, including a home run, and drove in two runs. Haselhorst doubled and drove in two. Meyer added a double, and Crooks stole a base. The SFCC offense totaled 11 hits.
Sophomore pitcher and first baseman Kiara Sodini started, pitching 3 2/3 innings and allowing four runs on five hits with two strikeouts and six walks. Donahue threw 3 1/3 innings in relief, giving up two runs, one earned, on three hits with four strikeouts and two walks.
