The Marian Ancilla Men's Basketball team is off to an incredible start, moving their record to 6-0 Saturday afternoon with an 87-57 victory at Montcalm Community College. The Chargers began the year with an 8-point win, and they have only improved, winning each of the last 5 games by no less than 18 points.

Freshman guard Jordan Woods has been the team's leading scorer and rebounder all season, and Saturday he continued his streak of double-doubles with his fourth in a row (15 points, 12 rebounds, plus 8 assists). Redshirt Freshman guard Kenneth Grant has also been on a tear the last three games, knocking down 19 of 40 attempts from 3-point range (47.5%) during that stretch, including 9-16 against the Centurions. He finished with 33 points overall, to go along with 5 rebounds.

Sophomore Dante Porch also scored in double figures with 13 points, plus he pulled down 7 caroms in the win. The 6-5 wing has been great off the bench, averaging 13.0 points and 5.8 rebounds per game in that capacity. The Chargers also out-rebounded the Centurions, 42-25. Brayden Clark led Montcalm with 13 points.

The Men's Basketball team continues its strong start next weekend as they head to the Waubonsee Classic in Sugar Grove, Illinois. They will take on Joliet Junior College Friday night at 8:00 p.m. ET/7:00 p.m. CT, then they will turn around and play host Waubonsee Community College Saturday afternoon at 3:00 p.m. ET/2:00 p.m. CT. Please come out and support the Chargers, if you are able!!
