The Saints (1-1) were coming off of a 3-0 win over Lake-Sumter but saw offensive struggles in game one of the double-header versus Indian River State College. Indian River (2-0) started the offense in the first inning with a solo run. The Saints then answered in the top of the third inning as Javier Soto drove Aiden Andreu in. That was the solo run of the game for Santa Fe. Indian River put pressure on Santa Fe in the 8th, loading the bases and finishing the game with a walk-off base hit.
The Saints went with Macklin Miller on the bump to start as Miller went 4.0 innings allowing four hits, one run. Miller struck out seven batters, walking just two. SF then turned it over to Donovan Rabiei who went 3.0+ innings allowing four hits, one earned run and walking just one.
At the plate Santa Fe totaled seven hits, Griffin Sorrow went 2-4 in the lead off spot. Robert Nedry and Rex Smith both went 1-3 with a walk. Andreu scored the lone run of the game for SF, while Soto drove in the lone run.
In game two of the day the Saints (2-1) knocked off Palm Beach State (0-3) 9-7 with a three run sixth inning. Santa Fe scored the first six runs of the ball game with a three run second inning, a run in the third, and a pair of runs in the fourth inning. Palm Beach then turned on the bats with a run in the fifth, five runs in the sixth. With the game tied at six after five and a half innings, the Saints put up a three spot in the home half of the sixth. A run in the seventh wasn't enough for Palm Beach as the Saints splits the double-header.
Robert Nedry had the first three hit game of the season for Santa Fe going 3-3 with two runs scored, two RBI, and a walk. Soto was the second Saint with a multi-hit game with a single and a triple in the game. Wyatt Tesar had two RBI in his collegiate debut.
Santa Fe went to four different pitchers in the ball game. Matt Pagan got the ball to start the game going 5.0 innings, allowing one run and striking out four. Dylan Lovelace was rewarded with a win throwing in just 0.1 innings, while Mitchell Marlowe receives the save in his inning pitched.
