Lytch has double-double in Senators’ 68-59 win over Cleveland State

CLEVELAND, TN – Da'Mori Lytch recorded his eighth double-double of the season on Wednesday evening for Walters State, as the Senators picked up a 68-59 win over Cleveland State.

With the victory, the Senators improved to 14-7 overall and 8-4 in TCCAA play. 

Lytch led the way for Walters State in the game, finishing with 15 points and 13 rebounds. Along with Lytch, Charvez Ambrose had 13 points and five rebounds, while Alex Garcia had eight points. Other contributors were Stevlen Morris with seven points, Elijah Clinton with seven points, Aiden Goins with seven points, Malaki Brooks with five points, Anthony Davis Jr. with four points, Nathan Beasley with two points and Carter Metz with three assists. 

Ambrose got things started early for Walters State in the game with two 3-pointers, but the Senators big boost in the opening 20 minutes came from Morris off the bench. Morris had seven points, going 3-4 from the field, and was Walters State's leading scorer in the half. Lytch had six points in the half, as well, as the Senators got up 34-24. Cleveland scored the last seven points of the half, but Walters State still led 34-31 at the break.

In the second half, the Walters State lead grew to 58-42 with seven minutes to go and the Senators held on for the win. In the final 20 minutes, Lytch had nine points and nine rebounds while Ambrose hit another three and had seven. Garcia had five points, as well.
