Ferguson posts season-high 23 points in Chargers’ rout of McHenry County

GALESBURG — Capre Ferguson notched a season-high 23 points as the Sandburg women's basketball earned a 76-48 wire-to-wire win over McHenry County on Tuesday afternoon.

KEY MOMENTS
The Chargers (8-6) scored the first 10 points of the contest. Ferguson scored six in that stretch, including a game-opening 3-pointer. Paige Huffman's trey put Sandburg up 15-2 with 4:30 left in the first quarter. The Chargers led 22-13 after the opening period and 37-20 at halftime.

SANDBURG STANDOUT
Ferguson led all players with 23 points while going 9 of 15 from the field and 4 of 6 from the free-throw line. The sophomore from Galesburg also contributed six rebounds two assists and a steal. Her previous best point total this season was 18 on Nov. 27 against Lake County. Ferguson threatened her career high of 26 points, set last season at Clarke JV.
