Game 1:

Arkansas State Mid-South Falls To MACC Greyhounds

 

Arkansas State Mid-South fell to MACC Greyhounds 5-2 on Saturday.

 

MACC Greyhounds got on the board in the first inning after Braden Hemmer hit a sacrifice fly, scoring one run.

 

Peyton Braile homered to center field, scoring two runs in the bottom of the second for the MACC Greyhounds.

 

MACC Greyhounds scored one run in the bottom of the fourth on a solo home run to left field by Braile.

 

Manny Reyes earned the win for MACC Greyhounds. The righty surrendered four hits and two runs (zero earned) over seven innings, striking out six and walking four. Layne Rivers took the loss for Arkansas State MidSouth. The starting pitcher went six innings, surrendering five runs (three earned) on five hits, striking out two and walking two.

 

Matthew Dutton led Arkansas State Mid-South with two hits in four at bats. Colton Coleman and Eli Dale each drove in one run for Arkansas State Mid-South.

Arkansas State Mid-South Claw Back, But Fall Just Short Against MACC Greyhounds

 

Arkansas State Mid-South's effort to come back from down five runs in the third inning came up just short, as they fell 7-6 to MACC Greyhounds on Saturday. Arkansas State Mid-South closed the gap by scoring on a single, a walk, a sacrifice fly, a single, and a single.

 

Arkansas State Mid-South lost despite out-hitting MACC Greyhounds eight to five. Bobby Clifton, Ethan Hirons, Kaleb Tejada, and James Chicorelli each collected two hits for Arkansas State Mid-South.

 

MACC Greyhounds got on the board in the bottom of the second inning after Jake Stedman singled to center field, and Grant Sumrall tripled down the left field line, each scoring two runs.

 

MACC Greyhounds added one run in the third. Lucas Eddleman grounded out, making the score 5-0.
