NCMC softball opened their Region 16 play on the road with a pair of defeats at Crowder College (12-7, 12-6) before rebounding with a pair of wins at Missouri State University-West Plains (11-1, 14-2). The team holds an overall record of 5-9 and a 2-2 mark in region play. Next up will be four home games against Three Rivers CC on Wednesday-Thursday.
Home runs powered the way for the Pirates at MSU-West Plains in the sweep. Trinity Alderman led the way by belting a pair of homers while Kenley Moore, Myla Laws, Alex Endicott, Addison Huber and Cassi Rodgers each chipped in with one.
In the game one defeat to Crowder, Ireland Bloss had a terrific offensive performance. She knocked 2 home runs while going 2-4 with 4 RBIs and 2 runs scored. Endicott also stood out, going 2-3 with a homer of her own. Taking the loss in the pitcher's circle was Emma Lisenbee who surrendered 9 earned runs over 4 innings.
In game two with Crowder, Brookelynn Becker paced the offense. She went 3-4 with a pair of doubles and 3 RBIs. Ella Barnett went 2-4 with a pair of runs scored. Cassi Rodgers took the loss, allowing 8 earned runs in 3.1 innings pitched.
