Softball dominated Region 16 foe Missouri State University-West Plains on Sunday at Griffin Field. With the pair of wins over the visiting Grizzlies, NCMC is now 15-21 overall and 10-8 in Region 16. Next up is a road doubleheader on Monday against Indian Hills CC. First pitch is set for 2:00pm.
Pirate's softball pounded out 11 hits in the opening 15-1 win Sunday. Kenley Moore, Ireland Bloss and Makenzie Dunkin all blasted homers. Dunkin also drove in 4 runs for the potent NCMC attack. Cassi Rodgers earned the complete game victory, tossing 5 innings while allowing just 1 run and striking out 6.
In the 8-0 game two win, NCMC got 2-hit performances from Emma Lisenbee and Myla Laws. Laws produced 3 RBIs and scored another 2 runs in an excellent performance. Lisenbee picked up the complete game shutout win in the pitcher's circle, striking out 4 in 5 innings of work.
