Catonsville, MD -- The CCBC Catonsville Cardinals came up just short in a tightly contested game, falling 69-65 to Garrett College. Despite their best efforts, the Cardinals couldn't overcome late-game miscues in what proved to be a hard-fought matchup.
Micah Morgan led the way for the Cardinals with a team-high 17 points, shooting an efficient 6-of-8 from the field and pulling down seven rebounds. Karris Scott also had a strong showing, contributing 14 points along with four rebounds and two steals. Lance Porter added 8 points and played solid defense, finishing with a steal and a block.
While the Cardinals played tough on defense, forcing Garrett into several turnovers, their shooting struggles from beyond the arc hindered their chances. They went 8-for-38 from three-point range, a key factor in the close loss. The bench provided a boost, led by Wendall Tomlin, who added 6 points and three rebounds, and Jacere Vega, who chipped in 5 points and brought energy on both ends of the court. However, turnovers and missed opportunities late in the game ultimately sealed the Cardinals' fate.
The Cardinals will look to regroup and address their shooting inconsistencies as they prepare for their next game against Westmoreland County Community College on January 15th.
