
Saints Dominate TNXL
Santa Fe played host to TNXL Academy in the final game before the first conference game on Thursday against Polk State College.

The Saints brought their bats to Harry Tholen Field scoring 18 runs in an 18-2 win over TNXL Academy. The first inning was quiet for both teams going six up, six down. The Saints struck first in the second inning scoring two runs before leaving the bases loaded headed to the top of the third. A solo run for the Saints in the bottom of the third allowed Sants Fe to take 3-0 lead. TNXL got their bats going in the fourth inning as they scored their only two runs of the game in the inning. In the bottom of the fourth inning the Saints batted around the lineup scoring ten runs. SF was not done as they put up another crooked number in the home half of the sixth inning scoring five runs to cap the day off.
The Saints handed the ball to Nick Staszak for the start as he picked up his first win of the season. Staszak went 5.0 innings allowing three hits and two runs (one earned run). The Sophomore struck out five hitters, walking just one. At the plate, Trey Freeman led the day going 2-2 with a walk while driving in four runs. Freeman also came around to score two runs for the Navy and White. Robert Nedry, Ryan Chase and Carlos Garcia all had two hit performances on the afternoon. Nedry and Chase both were 2-4 with a walk and three RBI.
The Saints open conference play on Thursday afternoon as Polk State comes to town for a 2:00 PM first pitch.
