
No. 4 Herkimer Men's Basketball Bounces Back with Dominant Win vs. SUNY Sullivan
The Herkimer Generals Men's Basketball team bounced back with a vengeance, cruising to a commanding 102-58 victory over SUNY Sullivan. The win improved the Generals' record to an impressive 10-2 for the season.
Herkimer came out firing, scoring 50 points in the first half while holding Sullivan County to just 29. The Generals continued their relentless pace in the second half, adding another 52 points to secure the blowout win.
Five Generals scored in double-figures, while everyone on the roster scored at least five points. Freshman Xavier Cardona (Staten Island, NY) scored a career-best 13 points off the bench. Sophomore Jayson McGhee (New Rochelle, NY) added 13 points as well. Sophomore Tajuan Thomas (Atlanta, GA) scored 11 points against his former team. Sophomores Oladele Oladitan (Staten Island, NY) and Jayden Norris (St. Louis, MO) added 10 points,
Kenny Freeman was a force in the paint, contributing a double-double with eight points and 10 rebounds.
The Generals shot an impressive 56.9% from the field, including 52.0% from three-point range, as their offense operated with precision and pace. Herkimer's defense was just as dominant, forcing turnovers and limiting Sullivan County to 29 points in each half.
Herkimer has a few days off before heading to Genesee CC and Corning CC for back-to-back road games this weekend.
