
Saints Split at Daytona State
Santa Fe traveled to Daytona Beach, Florida for the midweek conference doubleheader.

Daytona Beach, FL
In game one of the doubleheader, the Saints were able to extend their win streak to seven in a row with a 5-3 win in extra innings. The Saints took an early 2-0 lead in the top of the first inning. SF then added another run in the top of the fourth to take the 3-0 lead. In the bottom of the seventh inning, Daytona State scored three runs to force extra innings. SF scored two runs in the top of the eight to bring home the 5-3 victory.
Ryleigh Bauer started on the mound for SF going 6.1 innings allowing six hits and three runs. Bauer struck out seven and walked just one. Belle Mancillas went the final 1.2 innings allowing two hits. McKenzie Jewell went 2-5 with two runs batted in for Santa Fe. Olivia LaMeau and Karris Rhine drove in the other two runs for the Saints.
In game two of the doubleheader Daytona State used fie runs in the final two innings to knock off Santa Fe 9-4. Santa Fe scored tow runs in the first before Daytona State answered with four of their own in the bottom half. Santa Fe cut the Falcon lead to one with a run in the fourth before Daytona State scored three in the fifth and two in the sixth to take the 9-4 win.
Ryleigh Bennett got the start going 2.1 innings allowing one hit and seven runs (two earned runs). Alexis Daphney and Belle Mancillas also made appearances in game two. Jewel was the only Saint with a multi-hit game in the second of two games. Brook Markiewicz drove in two runs in the game.
The Saints are back in action on Saturday versus Indian River State College beginning at 1:00 PM.
