Sharks Lose by 10 Against Eastern Florida
The Miami Dade Sharks fell to Eastern Florida State College in a hard-fought game, with the Titans holding on for a 62-52 victory. Despite a strong second-half effort by Miami Dade, the team couldn't overcome a sluggish first half, where they trailed 37-20 at the break.
Eastern Florida set the tone early, shooting an impressive 58.3% from the field. Their balanced scoring attack was led by Fredy-Salam Sylla, who posted 14 points and 4 rebounds, and Chandler Watts, who added 13 points on 6-of-9 shooting. Felipe Patino contributed 9 points, including two key three-pointers, while the Titans' bench provided valuable support with Marouf Moumine and Wesley Isoje combining for 11 points and 9 rebounds.
Miami Dade struggled offensively, shooting just 32.6% from the field and 20% from beyond the arc. Faheim Saintleger Meran led the Sharks with 15 points, including 2 three-pointers, while Hassan Belkhaddar chipped in 10 points. Despite a strong second half where the Sharks outscored the Titans 32-25, the team's inability to capitalize at the free-throw line (55.6% shooting) and their 14 turnovers proved costly.
Eastern Florida's dominance on the boards was another decisive factor, as they outrebounded Miami Dade 35-19, including a combined 10 rebounds from Isoje and Emondrek Erkins-Ford. The Titans' defense also stifled the Sharks' shooting from long range, limiting them to just five made three-pointers on 25 attempts.
With the loss, Miami Dade falls to 12-7 overall and 3-2 in conference play. Eastern Florida improves to 16-3 and 5-1 in conference.
