Jayhawks Defeat A Good KVCC Team
MCC Hold On After Late KVCC Run
The MCC women's basketball team hosted the Kalamazoo Valley Community College Cougars Saturday afternoon in their eighth game of the season.
It was a slow start in the first half for Muskegon only scoring 22 points. The Lady Jayhawks struggled to get a cohesive flow to the basket before halftime. In the second half, the Cougars and the Jayhawks had two consistent quarters of battle. It was a two- or three-point game up until the very end. The Jayhawks won 64-60 in end.
Tyvi Davis (#23) led the entire game on Saturday offensively and defensively. She continues to be a powerhouse on the court. She led with 32 points, 4 rebounds, 4 assists, 4 steals, and 2 blocks. Anna Lundquist (#30) also added 11 points, 12 rebounds, and 3 steals. Lastly, Kennedy Adams (#11) aided as well with 7 points and 3 rebounds.
Head Coach Jason Cooper was satisfied with the win, "Very tough win tonight. We pulled out one in the end because Tyvi Davis had a great game. Overall, we need to get better as a team after this game, but sometimes you gotta win ugly."
The Lady Jayhawks play at home Tuesday, December 10th, against Madonna University's JV women's team at 6:00.
