
After clawing back from a deficit, the Cyclones came up victorious on the road over Governors State University JV, winning 81-79.
Moraine Valley started the game in the hole, 5-0, unable to get a lead for the entire first half. At one point, they were down by as much as 11 points. By halftime, the Cyclones were down 43-34. The second half is when the Cyclones found their rhythm to go on a 10-0 run and take a lead. In the fourth quarter, Moraine Valley was ahead by 12 points. However, Governors State chipped away and fought back to get within four. With 14 seconds left in the game, the Jaguars sunk a three-pointer to get within one point. However, a free throw from Jadea Johnson gave the Cyclones a two-point lead. Shakila Brownlow grabbed the offensive rebound on the second missed free throw to stop the Jaguars and hang on to the victory.
Johnson had her best game of the season with a career-high 38 points, going 17-for-22 from the floor. She also had eight rebounds. Brownlow added 20 points, six rebounds and four steals. Robin Stevenson led under the basket with nine rebounds and added three steals.
