NELSONVILLE, OH - Jamestown Community College (JCC) split its series at Hocking College, taking one of two games on both Sunday and Monday. JCC started the second doubleheader with a 4-2 win thanks in large part to a good outing on the mound from Kolden McCall. The freshman tossed six innings, allowing zero earned runs. He also had seven strikeouts while spraying three hits. At the plate, Yadiel Garcia and Mitchell McKinney each drove in a run to aid in Jamestown's win.
Game two was another tough pill to swallow for the Jayhawks. Jamestown took a 3-1 lead into the sixth before allowing four runs to fall behind 5-3. JCC was able to plate another in the top half of the seventh, but it wasn't enough as they fell 5-4. Garcia had a solid showing on the bump, giving up one earned run with four hits allowed. Gabe Roth and Santino Musone led the way with their bats as each drove in a run.
The series split moves JCC's record to 3-5 on the year. Next up for the Dirty Birds are four games at Lakeland Community College starting on Friday, March 14th.
