
FULTON, MS – The Indians battled through a tough three-game series, securing two wins over the Lake Land College Lakers.
Game 1: Indians 4, Lakers 3 [VIDEO]
Jarrett Morris delivered the game-winning hit in the bottom of the eighth, ripping a triple to right to bring home Madden Butler and secure a 4-3 victory.
The Indians totaled nine hits, with Morris, Butler, and Nathan Ferris each collecting two.
Tyler Yearwood earned the win, throwing four scoreless innings while allowing just one hit, striking out seven, and walking two.
Game 2: Lakers 12, Indians 8 [VIDEO]
Lake Land jumped out to an early 11-2 lead by the third inning. The Indians mounted a late rally with five runs in the seventh but fell short in a 12-8 loss.
Reid Kent doubled to score Morris and Jude Treadaway, followed by an RBI single from Evan McCarthy. Andrew Williams came home when the left fielder mishandled the ball, and Bryce Glenn added an RBI groundout before the Lakers escaped the inning.
Nathan Reed took the loss for the Indians.
Game 3: Indians 4, Lakers 2 [VIDEO]
Jud Files dominated on the mound, striking out 10 while allowing just two runs on three hits and three walks over six innings.
The Indians took the lead in the sixth, scoring two runs on an error and adding an insurance run on a dropped third strike.
Stone Collier tied the game at 1-1 in the first with a solo home run. Collier, Butler, McCarthy, Treadaway, and Houston Green each recorded a hit in the win.
Brayden Billingsley closed out the game, earning the save with a scoreless inning while allowing just one hit.
