Anoka-Ramsey hit 47.6% of their field goal attempts and held a commanding 38-19 advantage on the boards Sunday afternoon as the Lady Rams recorded a 72-35 victory over the M State lady Spartans in a MCAC Southern Division contest in Fergus Falls. The Rams held M State to just 10 first half points as they took a 40-10 halftime lead.
Mariam Alowonie led four Anoka-Ramsey players in double figures with 17 points. Sydney Hazuga hit 4-of-8 3's in the game and finished with 16 points. Jada Lussier and Bella Kanz came off the bench to score 13 and 11 points, respectively. Point guard Lynae Walker had 7 points, 6 assists and 5 steals.
Kharmon Wells returned to the M State lineup after missing several games due to an ankle injury and led the Spartans with 14 points, making 4-of-6 3's. Felicity LeBlanc was also back after being out with a concussion. She scored 5 points. Tenley Epema had 7 and Madi Foss finished with 6. M State shot just 28.6% for the game, but the lady Spartans battled hard in the second half, being outscored just 32-25 and taking much better care of the ball, reducing their turnovers from 14 in the first half to 6 in the second half.
M State (5-10, 0-5 MCAC South) had a non-conference home contest against Trinity Bible College on Wednesday at 5:30pm in Fergus Falls.
