Ava Austin threw a Game 2 shutout and the Middlesex College Softball bats were hot on a windy afternoon as the Colts swept visiting Ocean CC by scores of 10-2 and 12-0.
The wins boosted the Colts record to 16-2 on the season and they remain the #9 ranked team in the country in the latest NJCAA poll.
In Game 1, Middlesex fell behind 2-0 in the top of the first, but bounced right back for three runs in the bottom of the inning. The Colts added three more in the third and scored four runs between the fifth and sixth inning to secure the mercy-rule victory.
