
Cougars Clinch Semi-Final Spot with Gritty 2-1 Win!
Frederick Community College Cougars men's soccer secured a crucial 2-1 victory over WVU Potomac State, earning their spot in the NJCAA Region 20 DII Championship Tournament Semi-Finals!
The Cougars started strong, with Alexandro Angulo Moreno finding the back of the net in the 18th minute, assisted by Iker Alvarenga. Potomac State quickly responded with a goal from Jayson Gordon to level the score at halftime. In a tightly contested second half, it was Alvarenga who delivered the game-winner in the 84th minute, drilling a penalty kick past the goalkeeper. The FCC defense held steady, allowing just three shots on goal, and Eric Simonson made a key save to maintain the lead.
With the win, FCC advances to face Prince George's Community College on Tuesday, October 30 at 6:00 PM in the Semi-Finals hosted by Anne Arundel CC.
