NO. 3 WARRIORS SURGE PAST RAIDERS 89-71

Ottumwa, IA – No. 3 Indian Hills surged past Central Community College (NE) Friday night at the Hellyer Center to score an 89-71 victory over the Raiders. The Warriors move to 18-4 overall on the year, extending the team's winning streak to seven contests.

Indian Hills was led by a standout performance from Quinton Perkins II (Dallas, TX/Tarleton State). Perkins led the Warriors with 23 points on an efficient 8-9 shooting, including 5-6 from three-point range. Perkins added six assists to go along with five rebounds, three blocks, and two steals.

Freshman Mason Costello (Waukee, IA/Waukee) added 18 points, including 13 in the opening half for the Warriors. William Beugre-Kassi (Pontoise, France/Albert Thomas) chipped in 10 points and five rebounds.

Sophomore Joao Das Chagas (Niquelândia, Brazil/Arizona Western) came off the bench to power the Warrior frontcourt, grabbing a season-high 15 rebounds, including nine offensive boards to go along with seven points.

The Warriors overcame a slow start as Costello sparked the offense off the bench, scoring the team's first 10 points of the game. Costello, along with sophomore Kayden Nation (Peoria, IL/Western Nebraska) and Perkins connected on four consecutive three-point shots to push the lead to 19-11 in favor of Indian Hills. The Warriors eventually extended the lead to double-digits before taking a 39-32 lead into the locker room.

Indian Hills opened the second half on an 8-0 run to build a comfortable lead. Perkins paced the offense in the second half, tallying 13 points over the final 20 minutes while setting up scoring opportunities for the Warriors. The Raiders pulled back within single digits midway through the second half, but the Warrior defense clamped down, allowing just 10 points over the final 7:45 of play.

The Warriors held the Raiders to just 26.8 percent shooting from three-point range. As a team, Indian Hills held a 40-26 advantage in points in the paint while scoring 23 points off 11 Central turnovers.
