#13 Tribunes Fall Short in East B District Final, Finish Season 22-6
SANBORN, NY - The Monroe Community College men's basketball team saw their season come to an abrupt end on Saturday as they fell to Raritan Valley Community College, 75-66, in the first round of the NJCAA tournament.
The game began with both teams exchanging baskets, but a late push from Raritan Valley allowed them to take a narrow 37-33 lead into halftime.
Alan Garcia led the Tribs with a solid performance, scoring 14 points and grabbing ten rebounds. Christopher Judge contributed ten points and five assists, while Jaheem Tyson added 12 points and 12 rebounds.
Overall, the Tribunes would have three players fiinish the game scoring in double-figures.
Raritan Valley's Najee Graham was the standout performer of the day, dropping 24 points and helping lead his team to victory. Their defense proved effective, particularly in limiting Monroe's second-chance opportunities and capitalizing on turnovers.
The Tribunes wrapped up the year with a strong 22-6 record, 5-1 in the WNYAC and 11-1 at Home Monagan Court.
Looking forward to next season for the Tribunes as Head Coach Jerry Burns announced that he will return for his 34th consecutive season as the head coach of the program (767-249 Overall Coaching Record).
