Sophomore Night!
In this game the SUNY Orange Colts took their time to honor and congratulate three Colt athletes who have dedicated their last two years playing the sport they love.
In her time at SUNY Orange, Eva Bloom has firmly solidified her role as a consistent spark off the bench. Improving in every statistical category from her freshman to sophomore year, Eva brings energy and passion to the floor every night. Eva will graduate from SUNY Orange with a degree in Criminal Justice and plans to pursue a career in law enforcement.
A constant defensive presence in the paint, co-captain Alexis Aquino provided much needed physicality and toughness around the basket in her time at Orange. A consistently hard worker, Alexis more than doubled her averages in scoring, rebounding, blocked shots, and steals in her sophomore year, transforming herself from a role player to an integral piece of the SUNY Orange women's basketball program. Alexis plans to continue her education in the nursing field.
The heartbeat of the SUNY Orange women's basketball program, co-captain Victoria Harrison's work ethic and leadership have been critical to the progress of the program over the last 2 seasons. A model of consistency, Victoria's efforts earned her 2nd team all region honors as a freshman, as well as a spot on the Region 15 all tournament team. Raising her averages in her sophomore year, Victoria has remained committed to the team's progress by bringing her competitive spirit to the court every practice and every game. Victoria will graduate with a degree in Liberal Arts.
Hosting the Generals of Sullivan County, this is the second of two times that these teams will face off this regular season as the Colts will look to earn a win and even the score after falling to the Generals on Nov. 14th 2024. To kick things off the Generals were able to put the first points on the board, in the first quarter it seemed as if neither team was eager to play in this contest with just four points scored in the first five minutes of play.
After trailing 6-0 So. Co-Captain #23 Victoria Harrison put the Colts on the board after a heads up defensive effort to record the steal and push transition for an easy layup on the other end. In the remaining three minutes of the first quarter the Colts outscored the Generals 7-3 to cut their lead down to just two points going into the second quarter. Unlike the first quarter the Colts could not seem to find an answer to the Generals success, Sullivan went on to outscore the Colts 23-9 in the second quarter to give them a 32-13 lead going into halftime.
In the second half of the game the Colts unfortunately were outscored 19-28 giving the Colts their second loss against the Generals this season falling to 0-2 against their Region XV opponent.

So. Guard #23 Victoria Harrison led the way for the Colts in points, rebounds and steals. Finishing the game with 12 points, eight rebounds, two assists and four steals.
Fr. Forward #32 Adriana Joy finished the game with a season high recording 10 points, three rebounds and one assist.
The Colts take on the the Wolverines of Essex County Community College on Saturday Feb. 8th at 12:00 PM EST
