NORTH EAST - Cecil College baseball took a back-and-forth series finale, clawing past Morris 16-12.
The Seahawks recorded a season high 15 RBI and 13 walks in its highest scoring game of the year. Gio Malatesta and Andrew Baldini collected three hits each and combined for eight RBI.
Both teams saw their offenses explode early on. Morris scored nine runs over the first two frames, while Cecil plated eight runs in the bottom of the first. This left Cecil trailing 9-8 heading to the third.
The Seahawks went on to dominate the middle innings, punching through eight additional runs including five in the fifth. Ty Whittaker (1-1) stabilized the ship from the mound, giving up just one earned run and two unearned while striking out five.
Cecil jumps to 6-4 on the season with the win.
