Northeastern Baseball Wins Game Three of Four Against Trinidad State College 11-6

Northeastern Baseball took a 2-1 series lead, after taking down Trinidad State College 11-6 on Sunday. Carson Sauter was named the DDC Player of the Game. Sauter went 2-2 at the plate, drawing one walk, hitting one home run, scored two runs and drove in two runs in the contest. 

The Plainsmen got on the board first in the top of the first inning after Brayden Stufft doubled to center field and Max Valerio grounded out, each scoring one run. Northeastern added to it's early lead in the top of the second inning after Yusei Uzawa singled to left field, Tanner Peerey walked, Stufft hit a sacrifice fly and Valerio singled down the left field line, each scoring one run. The Plainsmen scored one run in the top of the seventh inning thanks to solo home run by Sauter. 

Ondrej Vank started the game for the Plainsmen and ended up earning the win. Vank went 5 innings, giving up 5 earned runs on 7 hits, walking two batters and struck out an impressive 11 batters. Evan Gail threw two innings of relief, giving up one earned run on three hit and struck out one batter. Northeastern accumulated 13 hits in the contest. Valerio provided pop in the middle lineup, leading the team with three runs batted in. Stufft led the team with three hits in three at bats. Uzawa and Sauter each collected two hits in the contest. Stufft stole two bases.
