Muskegon Community College Jayhawks Baseball Stymied By Morton College
The Jayhawks couldn't keep up with Morton College and fell 10-3 on Saturday.
Noah Morgan pitched three innings in relief, allowing three runs on three hits while striking out four and walking three. Johnson got the start, surrendering seven runs (five earned) on seven hits over two innings with two walks and no strikeouts.
Offensively, Luevano and Aidan Buchberger each drove in a run for the Jayhawks.
Muskegon Community College Jayhawks Baseball Bats On Fire In Loss To Morton College
The Jayhawks put up a strong offensive effort on Saturday but came up short against Morton College, falling 16-13. Morton College tallied 18 hits, while the Jayhawks recorded 15.
Dayton Thomas led the charge with four RBIs, going 2-for-3 at the plate.
The Jayhawks struck early in the first inning when Thomas was hit by a pitch to drive in a run. Gabe Schooltz followed with a three-run triple, and Lawson Doyle added an RBI single.
They extended their lead in the second with back-to-back home runs from Ryne Christensen and Thomas. The scoring continued in the third as Christensen doubled, Carter Hughes followed with an RBI double, and Thomas singled to right, each driving in two runs.
Nick Wilson got the start for the Jayhawks, allowing eight runs on 11 hits over 4.2 innings while striking out two and walking none.
The Jayhawks' offense was well-rounded, with Hughes, Thomas, Schooltz, Christian Kennedy, Christensen, and Doyle each collecting two hits. Thomas also swiped two bases in the game.
