The Lakeland softball team has begun preparing for the Spring 25 season. In league play, the Lakers will play their first 6 games on the road before hosting their OCCAC home opener on Saturday, March 22 in a 1:00 pm doubleheader against the Hocking Hawks. Following a trip to Terra State, the Lakers will host the next 4 doubleheaders at Laker Field. Games include Friday, March 28 vs Lorain County at 3:00 pm, Saturday April 5th against Cuyahoga at 1:00 pm, Sunday April 6th against Edison State at noon, and Friday April 11 against Owens at 3:00 pm. The Lakers will then hit the road for a pair of doubleheaders before returning home for their final league games on Saturday, April 26 against Terra State at 1:00 pm. The Lakers have a strong nucleus of sophomore returning and are led by Carmen Alvarez, Abby Haydu, Leah Richter, and Peyton Trick. The sophomore class is rounded out with great leadership from Lillyan Agostine and Emalee Harala. Lakeland is also looking forward to a competitive group of incoming freshman including Madison Ciammaichella, Morgan Gross, Lauryn Hawkins, Emerson Hren, Stephanie Miller, Abby Schneider, Sydney Plotts, and Lilyana Slapnik.
