The Lady Ducks basketball team faced a whirlwind week, playing three games in just six days. The stretch brought both triumphs and challenges, highlighting the team's grit and areas for growth.
The week opened with a solid victory at home on Monday, showcasing the team's ability to compete at a high level. However, the Lady Ducks stumbled against two high-powered offenses, falling to Jackson at home and Oakland on the road. Both matchups turned into high-scoring battles, which did not work in the Ducks' favor, emphasizing the need for a more defense-oriented mindset.
Free-throw shooting also remains a concern, with the team converting just over 60% from the line this season. "We need to lock in at the stripe," the coaching staff noted. "Those missed opportunities add up, especially in close games."
Despite the setbacks, individual performances stood out. Jaleeah Griggs delivered multiple double-double games, while Haven Vasold put on a dazzling 27-point display against Oakland. The coaching staff praised these efforts, celebrating the hard work and dedication that led to these personal successes.
"Our players are giving it their all, and it's rewarding to see their efforts reflected in big moments. It's a testament to their determination," said the staff.
With a much-needed break ahead, the Lady Ducks are focused on resting, recovering, and recalibrating. Their next challenge comes at home against Mott on December 4th, and the team is eager to return to the court stronger and more prepared.
"We're taking this time to heal and make the adjustments we need. The season is a journey, and we're committed to growing and improving," the staff added.
As the Lady Ducks regroup, they remain determined to rise above their challenges and continue building momentum for the rest of the season.
