Sharks hold off Hillsborough in 76-71 Victory
The Miami Dade Sharks secured a 76-71 victory over Hillsborough Community College, holding off a late rally to come away with the win. The Sharks set the tone early, building a commanding 41-27 lead at halftime behind efficient shooting and disciplined defense. Hillsborough responded in the second half, outscoring Miami Dade 44-35, but the Sharks maintained their composure and sealed the win with clutch free-throw shooting and balanced scoring.
Jamaal Morris led the way with 16 points, shooting 4-of-8 from the field and converting 7-of-9 from the free-throw line. Faheim Saintleger Meran added 14 points, knocking down two three-pointers, while Hassan Belkhaddar contributed 12 points on 5-of-10 shooting. Off the bench, Jordan Cooke provided a spark with nine points, hitting a crucial three-pointer and going a perfect 4-of-4 from the free-throw line, while Kenneth Brayboy added seven points and five rebounds.
The Sharks now turn their heads to Polk State whom they'll face on Wednesday before coming back home on Saturday to take on Indian River.
