Trojans stop Minnesota North College-Hibbing, 104-78
MASON CITY - The NIACC men's basketball team topped Minnesota North College-Hibbing 104-78 Wednesday night in a non-league game in the NIACC gym.
Adam Hackett led the Trojans with 21 points. Jaheim Savage was next in line for the Trojans with 16 points.
Also in double figures for the Trojans were Keon Alexander with 13 points, Zion Wright with 13 points and Brayden Drea will 11 points.
Wright collected his second double/double of the season as he led the Trojans with 10 rebounds. Wright also had a double/double with 12 points and 10 rebounds earlier this season in a win over DCTC.
Drea led the Trojans with eight assists. Omarion Roberts, who scored nine points, had seven assists and three steals.
NIACC's Cameron Reigard, who scored eight points, had five rebounds, four assists and one steal.
NIACC led 50-47 at the half and outscored the Cardinals 54-31 in the second 20 minutes to push its winning streak to six games, The Trojans' lone loss of the season was a 88-81 defeat to Wilbur Wright College in the season opener at the Konigsmark Klassic on Nov. 1.
NIACC (6-1 overall) returns to action Friday and Saturday at home in the Iowa/Nebraska Challenge. The Trojans face Central CC-Columbus at 8 p.m. on Friday and Southeast CC at 5 p.m. on Saturday.
