Defense Dominates In Raiders’ Win Over Central Georgia Tech

MACON, Ga. – Northwest Florida State women's basketball extended their unbeaten streak to 13-0 on Saturday afternoon with a commanding 64-33 victory over South Georgia Tech. This marks the second time the Raiders have defeated the Titans this season.

The Raiders' defense was outstanding, holding the Titans to 10 points or fewer in all four quarters. Central Georgia struggled offensively, shooting just 19.0% from the field and 8.3% from three-point range. While Northwest Florida didn't have their best shooting performance, finishing at 36.4% from the field and 26.3% from beyond the arc, their defensive dominance more than made up for it.

Nevaeh Scott and Deborah Davenport led the Raiders offensively with 13 points each, while Mekhia Chase contributed 12 points. Scott continued her impressive shooting from deep, hitting three of seven attempts to maintain her season three-point percentage above 50%. Davenport also excelled on the boards, pulling down eight rebounds.

South Georgia Tech struggled to find offensive rhythm, with no player scoring in double figures. Atiana Gilcrist led the Titans with nine points. The team connected on just 10 field goals, including a single three-pointer, but managed to convert 12 of their 14 free throws.
