Women’s Volleyball Advances to Region Semifinals

SOUTH PRINCE GEORGE, VA – The #7 (#1 Region 10 seed) Richard Bland College women's volleyball team hosted #8 seeded Lenoir Community College in the Region 10 Quarterfinals, hosted on the campus of Richard Bland. After completion of the match, the Richard Bland College women's volleyball team moved to 28-4 overall and advanced to the Region 10 Semifinals.

 

Prior to the opening game of the tournament, Region 10 announced the All-Region 10 award winners. Taelin Connolley, Lovina Teel, Gabrielle Meador, and Alexis Scipione earned 1st Team All-Region, while Phoebe Heath earned 2nd Team All-Region. Connolley also earned Region 10 Division II Player of the Year.

 

In the match, the Statesmen defeated the Lancers of Lenoir Community College 3-0, with se scores of 25-15, and 25-12, and 25-21. Taelin Connolley led the attack with 15 kills and Lovina Teel had 13. Aliyah Millner tallied four, Rachel Pickens three, Peyton Ostenson two, and Alexis scipione one on the day. Connolley and Teel also led with 16 and 14 digs. Scipione was also credited with 32 assists in the win.

 

The Richard Bland College women's volleyball team next prepares for the Region 10 DII Semifinals on Saturday, November 2nd. The Statesmen entered the tournament as the #1 seed and take on #5 Southwest Virginia Community College.
