BROWN SCORES CAREER-HIGH 34 POINTS FOR HAWKS WEDNESDAY IN FORT DODGE

FORT DODGE, Iowa – The Northeast Community College men's basketball team was back on the road Wednesday for a showdown with Iowa Central Community College in Fort Dodge, Iowa. The Hawks fell in the matchup by a final score of 89-88.

Northeast (7-16, 4-12 ICCAC) was led again by Luke Brown (Hobart, Australia) in points for the second-straight game as the sophomore scored a career-high 34 points after tallying 16 on Saturday against No. 3 Kirkwood. Vincent Garrett (Lincoln, Neb.) had 27 points in what marked the 13th time this season where Garrett scored 20 or more points. The Hawks will now look ahead to their final two contests of the regular season with playoff positioning still up for grabs.

HEAR FROM THE HAWKS COACH:

Head Men's Basketball Coach Josh Clark on the matchup with the Tritons and Luke Brown's big night:

"We started the game well and led by seven with 13 minutes left, but we let them back in it with open 3-pointers," Clark said. "We played tough in the second half, led by Luke Brown's play. He played the way he's capable of playing every night. He needed a game to show what he can do against a tough team."

Clark on the upcoming trip to Council Bluffs on Saturday:

"Iowa Western is very similar to Iowa Central," Clark said. "We have to focus on the things we can control and let go of the things we can't."

The Hawks will hit the road for the final time in the regular season and will take on Iowa Western Community College at 3 p.m. Saturday in Council Bluffs, Iowa.
