Miami Dade Explodes for 15 Runs in Dominant Win Over Santa Fe
The Miami Dade Sharks delivered an offensive showcase on Thursday, erupting for 15 runs on 15 hits to defeat Santa Fe College 15-6 at home.
After falling behind early, the Sharks responded with a five-run third inning and a seven-run fourth to seize control of the game. Catcher Denixon Suarez led the offensive onslaught, going 4-for-5 with five RBIs, including a two-run homer in the fourth. David Zamora also contributed three RBIs, while Talan Beckford added two.
Miami Dade's offense came alive in the third, where Suarez drove in two runs with a single, followed by a sacrifice fly from Thomas White and a two-run single by Zamora to take a 7-5 lead. The Sharks didn't stop there, piling on seven more in the fourth to put the game out of reach.
On the mound, Enrique Sierra (1-0) was stellar in relief, tossing six innings of two-run ball, allowing just two hits while striking out four. He shut down Santa Fe's offense after a shaky start that saw Miami Dade fall behind 5-2.
Santa Fe struggled defensively, committing six errors that contributed to Miami Dade's offensive explosion.
With the win, Miami Dade improves to 11-12 (4-6 conference), while Santa Fe drops to 10-12 (4-6 conference).
