
Northeastern Softball Drops Close Fought Contest To McCook Community College 7-4
Northeastern Softball dropped the second game of the Region IX home double header to McCook Community College 7-4. The Plainswomen start out region play 0-4 after the weekend. Kelsi Jurczewsky was named the DDC Player of the Contest. Jurczewsky went 1-2 at the plate, knocking in one run, scoring one run and drawing one walk in the contest.
McCook started out with a big first inning, scoring 5 runs in the top of the inning. Mackenzie Bowie started in the circle for Northeastern and ended up taking the loss. Bowie went 7 innings, giving up 7 runs (one earned) on 12 hits, walking one and striking out one. Jurczewsky, Mikeayla Llamas, Blayke Duncan, Ryann Eurich, Addison Steele and Bowie each collected one hit for the Plainswomen. Llamas, Bowie, Jurczewsky and Tatiana Hunt each drove in one run in the contest.
