YUMA, Ariz. – The Arizona Western Matadors Men's Basketball team (7-3) returned home to win its second consecutive game with a 116-48 win over AZ SOL on Friday evening on the first day of the Chapman Automotive Thanksgiving Classic at the House Gymnasium.
The Matadors were led by Kaleb Myers who scored a game-high 23 points and hauled in 13 rebounds to help the Matadors to the win.
Arizona Western went on a 29-4 run midway through the first half, stretching a four-point advantage into a 39-10 lead.
Matt Anglo scored 18 points to finish the game as the Matadors' second-leading scorer while Engel Gutierrez scored 14 points and Leano Rolle ended the game as the fourth Matador in double-figures with 10.
Edwin Suarez was the Matadors' second-leading rebounder with 11 and Aaron Barton led Arizona Western in assists with five.
The Matadors are back in action on Saturday, December 7, taking on Yavapai at 4:00 pm at the House Gymnasium. Tickets are $5.00 for adults and $3.00 for seniors while Arizona Western College students get in free with their AWC ID.
