Gulfport, MS
The Baton Rouge Bears Basketball team stepped out of conference play this evening to face the Mississippi Community Christian College Hurricanes. The game took place at North Gulf Port Middle School. Unfortunately, with 13:55 left in the second half, the game was called off due to unfavorable and unsafe court conditions. The Bears were credited with a 57-49 victory over the Hurricanes.
With this win, the Bears improved their season record to 15-8.
The Bears will return to conference play this Saturday, February 15, when they take on the Southern Shreveport Port City Jags in the Bears Den. Tip-off is set for 4:00 PM. Before the game, we will honor our eleven sophomores for their hard work and dedication to the growth of the Bears Basketball Program. The sophomores being honored are Jack King, Awak Machar, Laron Louis Jr., Troy Joseph, Courtney McCarthy, DJ Douglas, Jace Patin, Kialen Phillips, Imran Deen, Harry Johnson, and Dashaunte Cormier-Bellard.
