Tough end to spring training

It was a rough final day of spring training for the Cyclones as they dropped games to Delaware Technical Community College and Alpena Community College.

GAME ONE
Delaware put the Cyclones in an 8-0 lurch before Moraine Valley got on the board in the third inning. Brialynn Mica (2-for-4), Emma Hansen (1-for-3) and Brooklyn Sedlak (2-for-4) each singled to load the bases. Estelle Loth (2-for-4) knocked in two runs on a single to center field before Marissa Walsh (1-for-4) knocked in another run on a line drive to right, making it 8-3.

The Cyclones scored two more in the fourth after Mica and Loth each hit an RBI single. They scored their final run in the fifth when Mikayla Wilkerson-Myers (1-for-3) hit an RBI single to score Keira Clancy (2-for-4, 3B). After that, the Cyclones were shut down at the plate, while Delaware scored a few more, ending in an 11-6 loss.

GAME TWO
One rough inning did the Cyclones in and they fell 17-8 to Alpena Community College.

After the Cyclones went up 6-2 in the top of the second, Alpena scored 10 runs. Walsh (1-for-3) and Millie Redican started the inning by getting on base from a fielding errors before Stephanie Lohman loaded the bases with a walk. Samaya Frausto then walked to get a run. Mica (1-for-3) grounded into a fielder's choice but scored Clancy (1-for-2). Hansen (1-for4) singled in another run to get the Cyclones ahead 3-2. Sedlak (1-for-3) grounded out but Frausto was able to score. Mica and Hansen then each scored on separate wild pitches to go ahead 6-2.

Errors, walks and some hits in the bottom of the second gave Alpena the 12-6 lead. In the top of the fourth, Sedlak tripled and scored on a ground out from Loth. In the fifth, Clancy tripled and scored on a single from Madelynn Larmon (1-for-2).
