CRESTON - The No. 20 NIACC men's basketball team dropped a 69-65 decision to Southwestern CC Wednesday night in an ICCAC contest.
Southwestern CC led 44-30 at the half. The Trojans outscored the Spartans 35-25 at the half to trim the final deficit to four points.
Southwestern CC (10-12 overall, 4-6 in the ICCAC) was led by Ricky Loftin II with 18 points. Kael Jones scored 15 points with 23 rebounds. James Braddy and Donnary Fontenot both scored 10 points for the Spartans.
NIACC was led by sophomore guard Omarion Roberts with 14 points. Freshman Randy McClendon and sophomore Brayden Drea both scored 13 points.
Adam Hackett was also in double figures for the Trojans with 11 points.
NIACC (14-6, 6-4) returns to action Saturday at home against Northeast CC (3-14, 0-10) in an ICCAC contest. Game time in the NIACC gym is slated for 3 p.m.
