The Pumas could not keep up with Pima in game one of the double header on Saturday, falling 4-1. 

 

The Aztecs were the first to get on the board in the first, when a double scored one run. Another double extended Pima's lead to 2-0 in the top of the third inning, and a two-run homerun in the top of the fourth was all the Aztecs needed to secure the win. 

 

Alejandro "Trae" Santos started on the bump for the Pumas. The southpaw surrendered five hits and two runs over two and two-thirds innings, striking out two and walking one.

 

Jared Swarbrick and Matt Stewart each collected one hit for the Pumas. Stewart led the Pumas with one run batted in, the catcher went 1-1 on the day.  The Pumas turned one double play in the game. 

 

 

Jared Swarbrick drove in four runs to lead the Pumas past Pima 10-2 in seven innings in the second game of the double header on Saturday. In the sixth inning, Swarbrick homered to left field, scoring three runs. 

 

The Pumas won thanks in part to seven runs in the seventh inning. Logan Yule hit into a fielder's choice, scoring one run, an error scored one run, Jackson Babione hit into a fielder's choice, scoring one run, Isaac Seigler singled, scoring two runs, and Keith Eusebio grounded out, scoring two runs.

 

John Witt earned the win for the Pumas. The starting pitcher surrendered eight hits and two runs over six innings, striking out four and walking none. Dylan Droelle collected the save.

 

The Pumas tallied nine hits in the game. Erick Dessens led the team with three hits in four at bats and McNair-Seigler collected two hits in three at bats.The Pumas turned one double play in the game and were sure-handed and didn't commit a single error. McNair-Seigler made the most plays with 10.

 

Next up for the Pumas is a home game against Scottsdale on February 11, first pitch is at 3:00pm.
